It is no longer news that Alex Iwobi of Arsenal will miss Super Eagles tie against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a world cup qualifier coming up next Friday, 1st of September. However, some people may not really know how Super Eagles Coal, Gernot Rohr arrived at the decision of replacing him with CSKA Moscow forward – Aaron Samuel.
The CSKA Moscow forward, Olanare Aaron Samuel had earlier returned from injury which kept him away from football for over six months while on loan before he finally switched over to the capital city club. Aaron Samuel made his debut when he played for the first time for Super Eagles of Nigeria on October 11 2014 after Late Stephen Keshi invited him for the squad that played against Sudan in 2015 African Nation Cup qualifier against Sudan.
Born on the 4th of June 1994 in Port Harcourt, Samuel wears jersey number 99 for his CSKA Moscow Club of Russia. He started his football career with the Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan in 2010, featuring for the team for 23 times and scoring a total of 23 goals before switching to Dolphin FC of Port Harcourt. He pitched his tent with Vålerenga in 2012 scoring just a goal in 15 appearances.
Aaron moved to Sarpsborg 08 FC in 2013 and scored 10 goals in 26 appearances. Luck began to smile on him after he was loaned to CSKA Moscow FC of Russia in 2016 by Guangzhou R&F, a club he featured for appearing 34 times, scoring 17 goals. He finally signed 4.5 years contract with his present club on 28 January this year and is set to take the place of Injured Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi in this weekend tie in a World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Uyo.
